Donald Trump boasts it’s ‘very special to be here’ as he holds rally in Biden’s hometown and vows to win Pennsylvania

On Wednesday, Trump traveled to Scranton, Pennsylvania, where Biden was born, to convince working-class Democrats to vote Republican.

The former president held a standard rally and encouraged his supporters that, with their votes, they would win the state.

“If we win Pennsylvania we’ll win the whole thing,” Trump told the roaring crowd.

“Your taxes will come down and your safety will go up.”

Trump’s speech centered around blasting Harris’ energy policies. He believes she will cut jobs by banning fracking and shutting down nuclear plants.

Meanwhile, the former president wishes to encourage oil and gas companies to expand fracking, creating job opportunities for Pennsylvanians.

“We will make Pennsylvania an energy supplier to the entire world,” he said, before playfully proclaiming, “drill, baby drill.”

Harris encouraged a fracking ban before taking office, but now says she wouldn’t impose restrictions if she becomes president.

Trump said it was “very special to be here” in Pennsylvania, especially after he survived an assassination attempt just hours away.

Four days ago, he bravely returned to Butler with tech giant Elon Musk to urge supporters to “vote, vote, vote.”

At his most recent rally, the former president mourned the loss of Corey Comperatore, a dad who died protecting his family from gunfire at the rally in Butler.

However, he went on to celebrate how his team managed to raise millions for his mourning family, and commended supporters who bravely held their ground during the shooting.

To end the rally, Trump vowed to end the war in Ukraine, protect free speech, and defend the Second Amendment.

“Every day will be filled with opportunity and hope,” he said.

“But for that to happen, we must defeat Kamala Harris and stop her radical left agenda once and for all.”

FIGHT FOR THE BLUE

Pennsylvania is a crucial swing state that Trump barely lost in 2020, sacrificing 20 electoral votes to Biden.

However, recent polling found he’s edged 2 points ahead of Harris in the state, The Hill reported.

Trump's main policy points

  • Implementing tax cuts, including no tax on tips
  • Protecting Social Security and Medicare – Trump said ‘incomes will skyrocket and the middle class will prosper like never before’
  • Protecting borders – He pledged to end the ‘border nightmare.’ That means two things on day one – ‘Drill baby Drill,’ as he said, and close the borders
  • Finishing building the wall
  • Keeping our ‘sons and daughters safe’
  • Replenishing the military and building a military ‘dome’ – Trump insisted he could stop wars with just a phone call and said no military would be able to penetrate the USA if he came into office
  • Ending the war in Ukraine and imposing tariffs on Iran
  • Vowing to “beat” China
  • Working to decrease prices and ease inflation
  • Bringing down the cost of energy
  • Making cities ‘safe, clean and beautiful’ again
  • Making it possible for Americans to buy gas-run cars by ending the electric vehicle mandate on the first day of his presidency

Trump is planning to spend the majority of his time in Democratic states for the next month, including Colorado, California, Illinois, and New York.

He scheduled an event in New York City’s Madison Square Garden days before polls open in early November.

STORM FURY

Trump and Harris are both hunkering down to keep campaigning while another historic storm is set to make landfall in Florida.

Hurricane Milton is forecast to blaze through a Florida that is still recovering from the devastating brought on by Helene.

The storms have canceled a couple of events for the candidates, forcing Harris to reschedule one Miami, Florida, event for Las Vegas, Nevada.

Biden is also struggling under the pressure of the wreckage, as he canceled a trip to Germany and Angola to stay in the US for support.

It comes as…

Speaking exclusively to The U.S. Sun, James Davis, former communication director for the 2012 Republican National Convention, said he believes the hurricanes could be a turning point for voters.

He linked the federal government’s response to Helene to Katrina rescue efforts in 2005 and felt that officials had dropped the ball.

“Given their response to this hurricane, I cannot see that they’re anywhere in play for them. It’s been really atrocious,” he said.

“It drives a national narrative of ‘Where are you spending your time?’

“You might live in one of those Rustbelt states but have friends or family in the southeastern United States and they’re sitting down there saying ‘Everyone has forgotten about me.'”
