A FORMER candidate on The Apprentice has claimed Donald Trump is stuck in a “doom loop” as he struggles to win back momentum from Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

Kwame Jackson, who finished as runner-up on the 2004 season of the reality show hosted by the future45th president, spoke exclusively to The U.S. Sun at the Democratic National Convention.

The sudden momentum behind Kamala Harris in her whirlwind campaign has left her rival ‘shell shocked,” Jackson claimed[/caption]

He believes Trump is “shell shocked” and struggling to deal with the momentum shift as he wants to be liked, as well as respected, by celebrity culture.

Speaking in Chicago, Jackson said he believed Joe Biden had pulled a “George Washington-level move” in stepping aside when he did and endorsing Harris to be the presidential candidate.

“Vice President Harris’ ascension has Trump shell-shocked,” Jackson claimed.

“People are even talking about him monitoring the television ratings for different speeches, especially Vice President Harris, and comparing them to his figures.”

DNC highlight so far…

  • Delegates conveyed their admiration for President Joe Biden as he delivered a forceful speech during night 1 of the DNC.
  • Kamala Harris secured the Democratic nomination in a chaotic and gaffe-filled roll call during night 2 of the convention.
  • Former Trump advisor and White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham spoke at the DNC.
  • Grisham, who was one of five Republicans to speak at the Dem convention, said behind closed doors, Trump would refer to his supporters as “basement dwellers.”
  • The Obamas electrified the Chicago crowd as they delivered keynote speeches.
  • Former First Lady Michelle Obama delivered a rousing speech blasting the Republican presidential candidate as a racist and misogynist.
  • Barack Obama, one of the most influential figures in the Democratic Party since leaving the Oval Office in 2017, called Trump a “whining and childish” billionaire.

Jackson went on: “He is a creature of the media. He wants to be loved. He wants to be approved, but he also wants to be loved and approved by the culture.”

OUT OF TIME

The entrepreneur used Hulk Hogan‘s appearance at the Republican National Convention as an example of Trump being on the back foot in terms of this.

Bringing out Hogan, “a figure of the 1980s” versus bringing out Beyoncé, “who’s the ambassador of modern culture, especially at the Gen Z level, is a much different equation,” Jackson argued.

“I think that really affects him on an ego level. It affects him on a psychological level, and it puts him in a bit of a doom loop so that he keeps creating these negative and toxic quotes or statements or attacks on Vice President Harris’s race.”

Jackson claimed that Trump would be stuck in this loop until he could find a new base on which to rebuild his campaign.

However, he warned that the Republican candidate is “running out of time” with fewer than 80 days until the election.

During his fourth DNC appearance, Jackson also said that Republicans need to work to fight the “weird” label.

For the Republicans to challenge this damaging narrative, they have to “be normal,” the public speaker revealed, adding that Walz“struck gold” by calling a spade a spade when calling out the bizarre behaviors of high-profile Republicans and supporters.

He claimed that American voters hadn’t known how to label what he saw as “weird behaviors” such as J.D. Vance’s cat lady statement, until Walz directly labeled it.

“Now the Republicans are struggling to remove themselves from that label,” he said as voters are left thinking, “They’re just not for me.”

SWING STATE

Among GOP members, there is a growing swell of support for a movement dubbed Republicans for Harris.

The movement has attracted right-wing voters who feel alienated by Trump’s party takeover and have chosen to throw in with Harris and the Democrats.

Anti-Trump Republican voters have praised the idea of choosing “country over party” in November as a handful of high-profile Republicans have arrived at the DNC to back Harris.

Trump’s former press secretary Stephanie Grisham took to the stage on Tuesday alongside Republican strategist and The View panelist Ana Navarro-Cárdenas who hosted the second day at the DNC.

“Unlike my boss, I never wanted to stand at that podium and lie,” Grisham said of Trump.

“Now here I am, behind a podium, advocating for a Democrat and that’s because I love my country more than my party.”

She claimed that behind closed doors Trump “mocks his supporters” and calls them “basement dwellers.”

Democratic National Convention: Fast Facts

The Democratic National Convention is the presidential nominating convention for the 2024 Presidential Election.

Delegates of the US Democratic Party will vote to nominate Vice President Kamala Harris for president.

They will also affirm her choice of running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, for vice president.

Kamala Harris is the first Black woman and first South Asian person to be the presidential nominee of a major political party in the US.

The convention begins on Monday, August 19, and runs through Thursday, August 22.

It will take place in Chicago, Illinois, at Chicago’s United Center.

The Democratic National Convention Chair is Minyon Moore.

Notable speakers will include President Joe Biden, former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Jason Carter, and Pete Buttigieg.

The former White House aid left the stage declaring Harris “has my vote.”

Other Republicans appearing at the DNC include former Illinois Rep. Adam Kinsinger, ex-Georgia Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan, Olivia Troye, the former aide to Vice President Mike Pence, and Major John Giles of Mesa, Arizona.

OBAMA STARDOM

The second day of the DNC was dominated by former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama who both gave separate speeches and slammed Trump in the process.

Both of the Obamas were received by rapturous applause with Michelle returning to her hometown for the event.

She praised the influence her mother had on her life before saying that Harris was one of the “most qualified people ever to seek the office of the presidency.”

Hitting out at her husband’s predecessor, Michelle took a jab at Trump’s “black jobs” comment from last month.

“Who’s going to tell him the job he’s currently seeking might be one of those Black jobs?” she said.

“It’s the same old con.”

Meanwhile, her husband who was the last to speak at the event on Tuesday, praised Joe Biden and slammed Trump as a 78-year-old billionaire “who has not stopped whining about his problems since he rode down his golden escalator nine years ago.”

The former president also appeared to make a crude gesture when noting Trump’s apparent obsession with size.

“There’s the childish nicknames, the crazy conspiracy theories, this weird obsession with crowd sizes,” Obama said, as he brought his hands closer together, which the crowd interpreted as a jab at Trump’s focus on size.

“He’s afraid to lose to Kamala,” the two-term president told the crowd.

Despite the stardom element brought to the second day by the former president and first lady, there were some awkward moments too.

Billionaire JB Pritzker took to the stage and joked about his wealth just minutes after Bernie Sanders had slammed the rich and said it is time to go after the wealthy to help Americans “struggling every day to just get by.”

Meanwhile, the DNC roll call which saw Harris officially named as the party’s nominee descended into chaos with Alabama failing to vote and rapper Lil Jon taking over for Georgia as others were hit with technical glitches.
